On December 27, 2022, the decree amending Articles 76 and 78 of the Federal Labor Law regarding the vacation period was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation.
Below is a summary of the main items:
- Approval to increase vacation days to 12 days after the first year. Such period will increase by two working days every year, until reaching 20 days in the fifth year, as shown in the following table:

From 11 to 15 years | 24 days |

From 31 to 35 years | 32 days |
- After of the sixth year, vacation days will be increased by two days every five years.
- Workers will have the right to enjoy 12 uninterrupted vacation days or choose to use them in the manner they deem convenient.
- Reform is effective as of January 1st, 2023.
