Mr. Leyva has wide experience in litigating Tax, Administrative and Foreign Trade matters before administrative authorities and administrative and federal courts.
He has advised national and foreign clients in tax and foreign trade matters, as well as supported them in obtaining the various benefits provided by the tax and foreign trade legislation (IMMEX, VAT/IEPS Certification, PROSEC, etc.).
Before joining Jáuregui y Del Valle, S.C., Mr. Leyva worked at Chevez, Ruiz, Zamarripa S.C., providing consulting services and defending the interests of clients in tax and foreign trade matters of some of the most important companies in Mexico.
He also has experience in commercial and investment arbitration matters.
Josafat participates in all types of tax, administrative and foreign trade litigation matters, from petitions to the relevant authorities, to the conclusion of disputes that may arise; Elaboration and review of refund requests to the Tax Authorities, appeals, administrative and constitutional lawsuits; elaboration and participation in conclusive agreements; analysis of probable risk and benefit scenarios of clients' tax operations in light of the authority's criteria and relevant legal provisions; constant study, updating and analysis of legislative changes; strategic planning and determination of clients' possibilities of success before the administrative authority; attention to circumstances arising from national and international contracts in which tax and foreign trade legislation has an influence.
